NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK BUTTON CONTEST

APWA is proud to announce the theme “Connecting the World" for the 2023 National Public Works Week. Every public works professional illustrates how public works connects us all. Whether it’s through infrastructure or first responder services, public works professionals always enhance the lives of the communities they serve. This idea is reflected in the theme "Connecting the World Through Public Works. Public works help keep communities connected by providing an infrastructure of services in transportation, water, wastewater and stormwater treatment, public buildings and spaces, parks and grounds, emergency management and first response, solid waste, and right-of-way management. They are what connects our communities. Join us in celebrating these professionals!

RULES AND HOW TO ENTER

Anyone affiliated with Public Works in any way is eligible to enter, i.e. Public Works employee, employee of Public Works consultant or equipment supplier, engineering student, or children of any of the above.  Two button design submittals per person are allowed.  Button design may include photographs and all basic colors, except bright and highlighted colors. Designs are to be submitted on 8 1/2'” x 11” paper, mylar drawn 6” to 8” in diameter, or email to Christina Shaw (cshaw@placer.ca.gov). Design graphics must be a ½” from the edge, the winning button will be 2 ¼” round.

DESIGN CRITERIA - Must Clearly Include the Theme and Public Works Week Dates and Year.  The design will be judged by the following criteria: Most Original, Best Artistic Design and Best Public Works use of Theme.

PRIZES

First Place Winner - $100

Second Place Winner - $50

Third Place Winner - $25
