Description :Kammerer Road Drainage Tour with City of Elk Grove Registration: FREE - REGISTRATION REQUIRED so organizers can plan accordingly. The Kammerer Road Project (Project) is a City of Elk Grove (City) project that reconstructed and improved the safety of over 2 miles of Kammerer Road between Bruceville Road and Lent Ranch Parkway. This section of roadway is also Segment A2 of the Capital SouthEast Connector Joint Powers Authority’s (JPA) 34 mile expressway project. In addition, the historic centerline of Kammerer Road is the boundary between the City and Sacramento County (Co) so half of the roadway reconstruction was in the County. As such, the final design, right of way acquisition and construction was led by the City but the City actively coordinated with both the JPA and County through all phases of the Project. The drainage basins were designed as wet basins with the inlet lower than the outlet and will have a permanent pool of water. This water will also sit in the storm drain pipes approaching the basin. Slide gates were installed on the inlet structures to allow maintenance crews the ability to close the gate and pump the water from the pipes to gain access for maintenance activities. In addition, because the pipes will be subject to the permanent pool, water-tight joints were installed to minimize infiltration at the joints and prevent washouts. Details of Tour Following the tour, we will go to Flatland Brewing (9183 Survey Rd #104, Elk Grove, CA 95624) from 3pm-5pm for drinks and pizza from the Pizza Peel. |
