NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK BUTTON CONTEST

APWA is proud to announce "The Rhythm of Public Works" as the theme for the 2020 National Public Works Week. This year we are focusing on challenges and would like citizens to think about their communities as a symphony of essential services, working in concert create a great place to live. Every community has a rhythm, a heartbeat that reflects its essence and tempo of life.
Public Works’ keeps a community’s rhythm moving by providing an orchestra of infrastructure services in transportation, water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment, public buildings and spaces, parks, and grounds, emergency management and first response, solid waste, and right-of-way management. Public Works provides the harmony needed for collaboration with all the stakeholders in capital projects, infrastructure solutions, and quality of life services.
RULES AND HOW TO ENTER
Anyone affiliated with Public Works in any way is eligible to enter, i.e. Public Works employee, employee of Public Works consultant or equipment supplier, engineering student, or children of any of the above. Two button design submittals per person are allowed. Button design may include photographs and all basic colors, except bright and highlighted colors. Designs are to be submitted on 8 1/2'” x 11” paper, mylar drawn 6” to 8” in diameter, or email to Christina Shaw (firstname.lastname@example.org). Design graphics must be a ½” from the edge, the winning button will be 2 ¼” round.
DESIGN CRITERIA - Must Clearly Include the Theme and Public Works Week Dates and Year. The design will be judged by the following criteria: Most Original, Best Artistic Design and Best Public Works use of Theme.
First Place Winner - $100
Second Place Winner - $50
Third Place Winner - $25
