Tour – Elk Grove Aquatics Center and Civic Center Commons
Come see the active construction of Elk Grove’s new Civic Center, including an Aquatic Center, Fountain Plaza/Promenade, and Community Center. The full service aquatic complex includes a combination of pools designed to serve competitive aquatics, instruction, water fitness, and family recreation. Features include an Olympic size (50-meter) pool, a fitness and instructional pool, and a recreational pool/water slide (nearly 1 million gallons total). The project includes all of the site work for this initial phase of the Civic Center Project, including parking and the “Commons”, an outdoor activity and event plaza. Phase 2 of the project is also underway consisting of a Community Center, including senior center and veterans hall.
Due to limited parking at the site, please meet at the Elk Grove City Hall at 9:00 a.m (Conference Room 3A, Public Works Department, 8401 Laguna Palms Way, Elk Grove, CA 95758). We will enjoy some coffee and pastries while Elk Grove’s Jeff Werner provides a brief introduction before we organize carpooling and head out to the site. This is an active construction site, closed toe shoes, high visibility vests, and hard hats are required. We will have a few spare hard hats available.
